The Lunar New Year, or Chinese New Year is on February 17, 2026.  In Feng Shui, we follow the Flying Star System to see what directions are favorable and which directions are not favorable.  This allows us the opportunity to shift and balance the chi. 

It is an ancient common practice to combat negative energies by using salt.  In Feng Shui, Salt Cures are placed in the directions that the #2 Star & #5 Star are located in.  #3 & #7 are also considered negative, but depending on other aspects of the Flying Stars and your home directions, the general focus is on the #2 and #5 Stars.  It is advised to place Salt Cures in these locations, especially if they are areas you spend a lot of time in.  Avoid any major renovations in these areas.

Below is the Flying Stars chart for 2026. In Feng Shui, we focus on the yearly chart as it is the most significant present energy.

For 2026, it is recommended to place a Salt Cure in the SOUTH and NORTHWEST areas of your home.  If your living room, kitchen or home office is in the WEST or SOUTHWEST I would place one there as well.  As always, follow your own instincts and inner guidance.
